Here are just
some of the comments recieved from teams that entered, thank you for
your response it is appreciated!:-
Hi, Marston green girls enjoyed the
tournament, it was well organised and everyone was very friendly.
Only suggestion would be, not as hot next year please! Janice Wilford

We took part two years ago at U12's with two teams and were very
impressed with the quality and organisation of your tournament,
likewise this year at U15's excellent.
Many thanks for great day.

Manager Kenilworth Wardens Juniors

On behalf of Rugby Town under 13's thanks for the invite. Again it
was
excellently organised.
Wish we could have done better but can hardly
blame
you for that. Hopefully see you again next year.

organised tournament we have played in - well done !
regards Chris (Greenhill JFC)

I would just like to point out that this is the first time that I
have taken a team to your tournament, I myself and a number of the
parents with me commented on how well organised this tournament was.
I would just like to say thanks and look forward to the opportunity
to come back next year.

Manager Ibstock Youth U12

Thanks for the event last weekend, everything
went smoothly from registration to match timings.
The kids absolutely loved the medals & certificates that were handed
out.
Definitely would look to have it in next years diary.
Thanks
Paddy Campbell - Lutterworth Storm U8's

Although my lads lost every game they
thoroughly enjoyed the day and I personally thought your tournament
had a great feel about it and if you hold it next year give me a
bell and we will come over again.
Thanks for making us feel welcome
All the best
Charlie Kyle - Cov Jag 2004 Under 14's

Once again you put on a well organised
tournament I had the privilege of being there for the 2 days as I
had two sons playing at U7's & U12's. I also had the bonus of
winning the U12's Cup. Will be back next year.
Wayne Nutt
Rugby Town Boys U12's

On behalf of Rugby Town U8's, can I
congratulate you and your team for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon
last Saturday. Most of my guys hadn't played in any
'competitive/organised' games prior to the tournament but I know
from the feedback received that they are looking forward to the next
opportunity even though they didn't win too many games this time!
The whole event ran smoothly and on time, you even organised the
weather! I will certainly recommend anyone in two minds to
participate next year should the opportunity arise.
All the best
Yours in sport

The Admirals JFC
Festival of Football took place at Newbold Rugby Club on Saturday
May 10th & Sunday May11th.
The tournament proved an overwhelming success with 212 teams
attending from several counties and over 1600 boys and girls
enjoying a fabulous weekend of football.
Admirals would like to thank their main sponsors,
Red Brick for once again
supporting Admirals in their Festival and also thanks to all other
companies who placed an advert in the Festival of Football
programme.
The U7's and U8's tournament were non competitive but all seemed to
enjoy themselves in the glorious sunshine.
Rugby Town Hawkes performed well winning all 4 of their matches as
did Harborough Town Rockets. Both Admirals U7's won 3 of their 4
matches.
In the U8's Mount Nod won their first 4 games before being held to a
goal less draw by Kibworth & Smeeton Jags and the Kibworth & Smeeton
Panthers were strong, notching up 4 wins and a draw from their 5
games.
Both Admirals teams battled hard to secure a couple of wins a piece.
In the U9's Cov Jag A stormed through their group winning all 4
games and this was to continue in the knock out stages when they
eventually beat Cov Jag B in the final. Brinklow can consider
themselves unlucky missing out on penalties in the semi final.
Hillmorton FC completed 4 straight wins in the U10's group stage
before being knocked out in the quarter finals to Rugby Town Bears
who went on to beat Cov Jag in the semi final and then Higham
Hotshots in the final after they had beaten Northampton Soccer
Starts in a closely fought semi final.
It was the Angels from Woodloes who eventually triumphed in the
U11's girls. After beating Brinklow in the semi final, it took a
golden goal against Ibstock Youth in the final to secure the trophy.
In the U11's Admirals Black topped their group but missed out in the
dreaded penalty shoot out to Bilton Ajax in the quarter final.
Bilton Ajax were then beaten by Drayton Grange Yellow in the semi
finals but couldn't quite secure the cup when they lost to Cov Jag
in the final.
The U12's final was an all Rugby final after Bilton Ajax had held
their nerve in the semi final shoot out against Riverside United,
however Ajax were to go down in the final to Rugby Town Boys after
they had knocked out the Admirals Black team in the semi's.
The physical power of Yorkshire side Greenhill proved too strong for
all sides in the U13's. Greenhill A defeated Withymoor Colts in the
semi final and when Greenhill B knocked out Admirals Black on
penalties in the other semi final, it was the A team that held the
trophy when the final whistle was blown.
Admirals U13's girls were crowned champions with a last minute final
strike that could well have been the goal of the tournament.
After beating Bedworth Utd and then Alveston Tigers in the knock out
stages, the wonder strike was enough to secure a 1-0 win against
Marston Green in the final.
Enderby Town B notched up 4 straight wins in the group stages of the
U14's and went out to beat kings Heath Concorde in the quarter final
and eventually Kenilworth Wardens A in the final, this follows the
Kenilworth Wardens penalty shoot out victory over Bedworth Eagles.
Kenilworth Town squeezed past Stanton Utd in the quarter final
before securing a penalty shoot out semi final win over Brinklow.
But it was Rugby Town Owls that held their nerve to win on penalties
in the final after defeating Brandhall Colts and then Chase Stags in
the quarter and semi finals.
Another semi final was to be decided on penalties in the U16's age
group when Westfield Wanderers beat Brinklow.
And it was penalties again for Westfield in the final where they
eventually beat Pinley.
Admirals would like to thank Newbold Rugby Club, all of the teams
that entered, all of the volunteers that gave their time and effort,
the referees and all Sponsors, particularly Red Brick to help make
the Admirals 2008 Festival of Football a weekend of fun, enjoyment
and great memories for so many children! |
